These works of art are created by layering translucent, oil- based inks on eastern paper. The paper is very thin and fabric-like, it absorbs the ink in a lovely way. I use a variety of tools and hand- made stencils to create the composition. These works are inspired by textures and patterns that I observe in nature. Living in the Florida Keys, the ocean is a powerful inspiration for my work, and these are no exception to that. Some of them invoke nostalgic moments of watching the colors in the sky change as the day starts to fade; others bring us below the surface of the water, reminding us of the power of the deep.
